After participating in the same one-week-course on fossil corals and having received a CD-ROM with a few hundred pages course material with hundreds of illustrations as PDF files, one student asked me (I do not remember the exact words) whether he may obtain all the figures as CDR or JPG because he wants to put them on his own Internet page.
In preparation of a research project including various students and offering grants, one of those guys wrote "
Puedo estar en su proyecto sin que cuente para tesis solo con la beca para ayudarme?" [May I participate in your project without writing the thesis, only with the grant to help me?]
One of my students, after passing a one-week-course on fossil corals, studying the course material, and starting to look at the own samples, at least two times the day and very decisive: "Hannes, eso no puede ser." (Hannes, this is not possible.)
